WHILE it might traditionally be seen as a forestry show, there has been plenty for arborists to enjoy at the APF Exhibition in recent years – and 2024’s edition promises to be no different.
For three days in September, the biggest names in tree care will head to Warwickshire’s Ragley Estate to flaunt the latest products to thousands of visitors.
As well as the chance to see working machinery and shiny, new kit, APF is also the place to catch the Husqvarna World 25 m Pole Climbing Championships, the UK Forwarder Driving Competition, and the new new APF Team Tree Climbing Challenge (sponsored by Pfanner and Teufelberger), meaning there is no shortage of entertainment on offer.
Brands such as Stihl, Vermeer, Silky Fox Saws, and Foxwood Chippers will provide the perfect fix for arborists, with GreenMech and Timberwolf among the other major tree surgery-focused names attending. If you are looking to pick up a few bargains, then look no further than the event’s extensive selection of arb-centric retailers, including Honey Bros and Buxtons.

New for 2024’s edition will be Dart International – the group of arborists who provide essential support to global locations during times of crises – and Predator.
One highlight to look out for will be found on the Husqvarna stand, as the brand gives arborists the chance to try out its new battery-powered lift for tree climbers.
The ActSafe ICX – developed in partnership with Skylotec – is said to “transform” the way professionals get to work up in the trees.
Elsewhere, don’t miss the opportunity to see the difference Oregon’s SpeedCut Nano cutting system could make to your work.
Tailored for smaller, top-handle and back-handle petrol and cordless chainsaws, the kit impressed during the recent ARB Show, and is described as “a lightweight, robust, efficient cutting solution that does not compromise on cutting performance, while maintaining peak efficiency for petrol and battery saws”.
A statement from Oregon read: “The engineering behind the SpeedCut Nano chain and bar system ensures a smoother cut with less vibration. This not only improves the quality of the cut but also enhances safety – a critical consideration in any forestry operation. By minimising kickback and ensuring a steady, controlled cut, SpeedCut Nano helps to mitigate the risks of chainsaw use.”
APF will take place at Warwickshire’s Ragley Estate from September 19 to 21. As the event’s official media partner, essentialARB’s sister title Forestry Journal is the place to catch the best of the action. Both eA and FJ will also be exhibiting and handing out free copies during the show.
