In this series of articles, we will be sharing exclusive coverage from APF 2024.
DRIVING in fence posts has always been an arduous task, but, as APF 2024 proved, there are an increasing number of solutions to ease the pain. Whether it was Bryce Suma Post Drivers or the Postmaster excavator attachment, there were multiple options to be found.
Chief among them was Easy Petrol Post Driver, which demonstrated its Classic 50 model for the first time. Retaining the same "durable and reliable engineering" as EPPD's existing Classic 35 (previously known as the Petrol Post Driver), the Classic 50 is fitted with a Honda GX50 engine to provide an extra little bit of horsepower – 0.7 more horsepower to be exact – for those slightly more challenging tasks.
“We have sold more than 10,000 of the previous model,” said EPPD’s Simon Anthony. “They have been extremely popular, and we are still servicing ones we sold 11 years ago.
“We found the 50 CC engine gave us that little bit of power. This really is more suitable for people who are putting in the heavier sections of posts, up to four inches. It gives you that little bit extra for the harder ground.
“There was a bit of a gap in the market. The way people are fencing is changing, and they are using the steel Clipex fencing as well [as timber]. This gives you a bit of extra power.”
