In this series of articles, we will be sharing exclusive coverage from APF 2024.

A WELL-KNOWN face in the attachment circuit, Approved Hydraulics had brought its complete line-up to APF, which included products from Femac, Baltrotators, and CMB.

But it was a brand-new grab from Intermercato that was getting visitors excited. Just recently launched, the GRX range is superseding the TG class, with the UK’s first GRX 10 taking pride and place on the stand. The grab fits excavators up to three tonnes, and such has been the demand that the APF unit had already been sold.

Approved Hydraulics’ Adam Hindle said: “The features on the new grabs include a 700 Strenx body, Hardox 450 jaws (up from Hardox 400 jaws), bigger space for fitting valves, and they are robot welded. They fit bigger machines and the costs are cheaper.

“They are selling like hot cakes.”

Visitors won’t have failed to notice the wide array of grabs on display throughout APF, but Adam believes there is one quality that sets Intermercato apart.

“It will do everything your log grab will do,” he said. “You are getting five grabs in one.

“Speak to anyone who is using one and they will tell you they have had them for years and they have never missed a beat. You may pay a little bit more for this, but it will last you many, many years.

“It’s a long-term investment.”
