In this series of articles, we will be sharing exclusive coverage from APF 2024.
Anyone swinging by the B. Price Mus-Max Specialist stand would have been lucky to catch sight of a new innovation being shown off in the UK for the first time at the show.
Suitable for mounting on a telehandler, tractor loader or digger, TrimVale’s all-in-one firewood processor promises to make log cutting a simple one-person task.
Timber is loaded by crowding the unit forward and using the built-in tines to flick the log onto the bed. A grab then holds it in place, ready for a hydraulically operated saw to cut it to the desired length.
A six-way blade – four- and eight-way versions are also available – then splits the wood into perfectly sized pieces.
Paul Trimble of TrimVale Machinery explained that the processor was made in Holland by BTD and was now being made available in the UK and Ireland by TrimVale, B. Price Mus-Max Specialist and PJ Gaul.
He said: “The key feature of this firewood processor is it requires just one man operating it in the cab of the vehicle. It is a very simple processor to use. The reaction has been absolutely overwhelming. People are very impressed with it as you can see during the demos. We stopped the crowd.”
