POWER tool manufacturer Makita UK has added to its XGT 40VMax range with a new cordless earth auger.

The DG001G brushless earth auger includes Makita’s brushless motor, which allows for a longer run time as there are no moving parts that can cause energy loss through friction-generated heat.

Coming with a three-year warranty, the tool is suitable for heavy-duty applications and incorporates two speed gears.

Kevin Brannigan, marketing manager at Makita, said: “For any construction professional, having a range of powerful cordless machines to hand is key to ensuring maximum on-site efficiency and productivity – especially when embarking on high-demand applications.

“Our XGT range has been specifically designed to tackle these tasks without compromising on battery run time, so users can keep working disruption free for longer.”

Also joining the range is the DA001G XGT 40VMax brushless angle drill, which can be used with either a front or a side handle, and offers a no-load speed of up to 1,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 136 nm.

It includes a torque limiter to protect the tool from mechanical overload and Makita’s automatic torque drive technology, which automatically adjusts the tool’s output according to the load.

Said to be comparable to a 36 cc engine product, the DG001G offers a maximum drilling capacity of 200 mm and 136 nm of torque.
