JOHN Deere has appointed a new dealer to boost its network on the continent.
The forestry giant has announced Moviter Equipamento S.A will now be responsible for distributing its machinery in Portugal from its five locations.
Based in Leiria on the country's east coast, already supplies John Deere's construction equipment and will add forestry to its portfolio from June 1.

Arnaldo Sapinho, managing director of Moviter Equipamentos S.A, said: “Proximity to customers is important for our company.
"Our experience of a long time John Deere construction machinery and Wirtgen Group distributor qualifies us to represent John Deere Forestry products in Portugal."
Sami Kulmala, manager for dealer sales and channel development, John Deere Forestry, added: “With a solid experience for serving heavy machinery and forestry customers for decades and trained technical personnel, Moviter Equipamentos S.A is well positioned and ready to support forestry customers in Portugal."
