MORE than £7 million will be spent on upgrading fragile rural roads, creating new forest haulage routes, and promoting moving timber by sea.
Timber transport projects in the Highlands, Dumfries & Galloway, and Scottish Borders are among those being awarded financial support by the Scottish Government.

The funding is through the Strategic Timber Transport Fund, which is part funded by Transport Scotland and managed by Scottish Forestry.
