IT'S one of the largest agricultural events in the UK, but hasn't been held in person for three years. Now the Royal Highland Show (RHS) is back and promises to be better than ever before.
As many as 190,000 people are expected to head to Ingliston this week to see the very best of Scottish livestock and rural skills.
And while farming takes centre stage, it is bursting at the seams with content for those who prefer trees to cattle.

Here's our guide to some of the forestry exhibitions and events to look out for at 2022's Royal Highland Show.

Forestry Arena
The Forestry Arena is one of the best places to see some of the biggest names from the sector in action.
Running every single day, it will shine the spotlight on a number of different aspects of forestry. This includes small-scale forestry, chainsaw carving and forwarders.
There will also be pole climbing and a lumbjack relay. Not to be missed!

The UK's leading forestry and arboriculture magazine will be exhibiting in the RHS's Forestry Arena - and we can't wait!

Scottish Land and Estates
Do you want to find out more about how trees can be integrated into farming businesses? This session - on Friday at 9.30AM - will give practical advice on the benefits of this, and will also cover information on how to go about introducing more trees.
This is a great opportunity to understand more about how we can improve the environment, while helping to efficiently produce high quality food.
Speakers include Mairi McAllan MSP, Minister for Environment and Land Reform.
Scotland's Finest Woods
Ms McAllan will also be on hand later day to give out this year's Scotland's Finest Woods awards.
Also known as the 'Tree Oscars', the pizes reward excellence in all areas of forestry and woodland. Categories include New Native Woods Award, Quality Timber Award, and Community Woodlands Award.
