POLICE are probing the illegal felling of a "substantial tree" in broad daylight in Worcestershire.
The tree was cut down on Comberton Hill, Kidderminster, at around 1.50pm on Thursday.
Local officers are asking for the public’s help to identify the offender involved.
A police statement read: "Were you in the area? Did you see what happened?"
A team from Wyre Forest District Council cleared the tree, which was obstructing the highway. Local councillor Fran Oborski described the act as "awful vandalism".
