FOOTWEAR manufacturer HAIX has unveiled a "reimagined" update to its popular chainsaw boots.

The Protector Forest 2.1 boasts a renewed focus on quality, comfort, safety and style. The new edition with a medium-high upper offers more freedom of movement for easier climbing and mobility than the standard high version.

Simon Ash, UK sales manager, said: “HAIX is consistently renewing its commitment to arborists and the forestry sector and is passionate about ensuring that workers are suitably equipped for the strenuous activity that they perform on a daily basis.

"Our new look protector forest range is designed to offer a sleek new style while most importantly ensuring they are as durable, versatile and reliable as possible.”

The upper material of the shoe is made of waterproof and breathable suede leather, 2.8 mm thick, and engineered to provide Class 2 cut protection.

Haix's partnership with GORE-TEX is said to function perfectly in the challenging environments the Protector Forest 2.1 can be put in, making it waterproof yet comfortably breathable. Equipped with the Haix Climate System, the pumping movement created in the shoe permits air circulation with every step – warm air is released, and fresh air comes in through the vent holes at the top of the boot.

GRIP+ Spikes (separate purchase) screw into the shoe soles providing extra grip, reducing the chance of slipping on branches and felled tree trunks. An abrasion-proof lining fabric with fleece inner layer further installs a balance of safety and comfort for all seasons.

The Haix Protective cap has been "anatomically designed" with a wide cushioned toe cap while the comfortable, impact-absorbing and moisture-wicking foot bed also instils further foot support. A separate heel cup ensures optimized cushioning and foot guidance.

Forestry Journal:

Built to last, the Protector Forest 2.1 contains a sturdy and abrasion-resistant, slip-resistant VIBRAM rubber outsole and PU midsole, well suited to rugged terrain through its expertly designed tread. The lightweight PU cushioning guarantees excellent impact absorption and proper heel to toe movement and the non-marking outer sole is resistant to heat, fuel and oil.

The Protector Forest 2.1 is available to order now from the HAIX website, or through HAIX distributors via carrs-billington-safety.com. To view the full range of HAIX boots visit www.haix.co.uk
