A RARE opportunity has arisen to manage approximately 700 acres of woodland on an estate.
Norfolk's Westacre Estate is looking for a forest manager to oversee conservation and timber marketing activity on its site.
Job ad description
A position is available at the Westacre Estate managing approximately 700 acres of woodland for the improvement of the woods – ranging from new plantings up to mature broadleaved plantations alongside an ecological restoration project of close to 2,000 acres.
Woodland work includes conservation requirements in agreement with our management plan, managing contracts and contractors, marketing and sales of timber, liaising with consultants, budgeting, planting, weeding, pruning, restocking, marking and managing felling operations.
In addition, they will be expected to work alongside our woodchip enterprises, the majority supplier, and our farm business to get the most out of our environmental management commitments across the wider landscape.
The Westacre Estate is a rounded organisation with multiple facets.
