ELMIA Wood, one of Europe's largest forestry fairs, will now take place every two years.
Organisers of the Sweden-based spectacle confirmed the event will change from its current four-year timescale after it struck a new land agreement, running until at least 2029. This could be extended to 2037.
However, it has also been revealed "some of the major machinery manufacturers are currently absent from the exhibitor list" for 2025's edition, with Elmia chiefs hopeful they will return "for future fairs". No further details on the absentees have been revealed.

Johannes Hansson, fair manager for Elmia Wood, said: "We are proud of Elmia Wood as a forestry fair with high quality and an international focus.
"It is a concept that gathers the entire forestry industry in the forest, and we see great potential in letting the fair continue to grow and develop at Bratteborg."
Elmia Wood is due to return between June 5 and 7 2025, with organisers saying they expect "increased interest" from exhibitors compared to 2022's event.
Johannes added: "It’s fantastic to see the increased interest from our exhibitors, and that planning for 2025 is in full swing.
"We continue to target visitors in the forestry sector, including professionals, small-scale operators, and family-run forestry businesses. They will undoubtedly have an impressive fair experience in the forest."
As for new features for 2025, Elmia Wood chiefs say visitors can expect:
- An improved fair loop approximately 3.5 km long with a more compact exhibition area and shortcuts for an even better experience.
- Increased focus on machine demonstrations and innovations.
- A brand-new arborist area.
Upcoming fair dates
