DEAR EDITOR,
‘Don’t mention the ‘F’ word’
Following yet another year’s poor harvest, together with the uproar caused by the Government’s latest plans re inheritance tax, farmers seem to be getting a large amount of press coverage and air-time – and maybe quite rightly so.
WANT MORE LETTERS?
- 'Sycamore is an excellent tree but you failed to mention one thing ...'
- Lantra chiefs address 'false information' about its qualifications
- 'I feel it necessary to share this letter anonymously for fear of reprisal'
I regularly wake up at 5.30 am and put on BBC Radio 4 to listen to the Farming programme.
Again and again I hear the poor old farmers bleating about their unfortunate plight.
Where is our industry, i.e. UK forestry? Time and time again we don’t seem to have a voice; for some, we could be their salvation. For God’s sake, do not mention the ‘F’ word!!!
Kind regards
Andy Chalmers
