AREA MANAGER


Location: Sussex and Kent
Salary Range: £41,000-£48,000 DOE

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior forest manager to be a key member of our Southern England Region forestry team in the role of Area Manager.


Reporting to the Southern England Regional Manager you will lead an area business unit to effectively manage existing client properties and develop and deliver new business opportunities. You will be responsible for delivering the agreed targets for the area’s business with your team, ensuring that properties and contracts are managed in accordance with clients’ objectives and to best silviculture standards.


Leading and developing the existing team of managers and delivering operational standards in accordance with the Company’s Assurance Management System, will also be a key aspect of the role.


About you

We’re looking for candidates who are highly motivated, driven, enthusiastic, reliable and adaptable. In addition to this, you’ll have:
• Relevant academic qualifications
• Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another relevant professional body (or working towards within 12 months of appointment).
• A safety qualification ‘IOSH Managing Safely’ or equivalent such as Manager’s CSCS
• Card holder or SMSTS competency.
• Strong commercial acumen to deliver and exceed on Area business targets.
• Experience of working within areas of sensitive habitat and European protected Species (EPS) is beneficial.
• Practical knowledge of mixed lowland silviculture is essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• The vision, ability and enthusiasm to expand the company’s customer base effectively.

• Strong client relationship management skills. • Good knowledge of the UK Forestry Standard & UKWAS.
• Full driving licence.
