ASSISTANT FORESTER


Salary scale: £22,937 - £28,053 per annum

About the role and our team
We are looking for an Assistant Forester to join the Forestry, Amenity and Lands Division on the Isle of Man!

This is an important role where you will assist the Forester in the management and planning of the Department’s forest and woodland estate, covering some 3,000 hectares.

Your main responsibilities will include:
• Assisting with the management of active harvesting operations
• Managing health and safety during all forest operations
• Supervising ground preparation and planting operations
• Surveying fences and critical infrastructure across the forest estate
• Assisting with forest mensuration to enable accurate reporting and forecasting

You’ll be based at our award-winning office building, Thie Slieau Whallian which is set in managed gardens and woodlands where we can offer you free on-site car parking. We also support remote working.
