FOREST MANAGER

Based: Kent/East Sussex

Tilhill, the UK’s leading forestry management company, has an exciting opportunity for you to be a key member of our South East England forestry team in the role of Forest Manager.

In this role you will be responsible for delivering a professional high-quality woodland management service to our existing clients together with other on- going forestry related opportunities, including woodland creation. The role includes building sound client relationships and managing contractors together with day-to-day duties such as the preparation of client estimates, production of reports, implementation of work programmes and grant applications.

Ideally, we are looking for the following skills and experience:
• Relevant academic qualifications.
• Strong commercial acumen and at least 2 years’ operational experience.
• Experience of working within areas of sensitive habitat and European protected Species (EPS) is beneficial.
• Strong client relationship management and team working skills.
• Experience in managing contractors.
• Good knowledge of the UK Forestry Standard and UKWAS.
• Practical working knowledge of mixed lowland silviculture is essential.
• Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another relevant professional body is desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.
