TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOREST OPERATIONS


Location: North-Mid Wales
Grade & Salary: 4 - £26,474 rising to £30,086 over four years

Type of Contract: Fixed term appointment until 31 March 2022
Work Pattern: Full time, 37 hours a week

Role Purpose
This role is to support the forest operations team deliver their respective programmes. You will be working alongside the Officers, Senior Officers and Team Leader within place to contribute to the sustainable management of Natural Resources Wales land.

You will plan and deliver programmes, within at least one of the following disciplines, (dependant on the scale of geographic programmes):

• Deliver tactical work programmes and/or collate forest and conservation inventory information, maintaining the GIS data, carry out site evaluation, in the delivery of operational programmes.
• Forest Operations management, including technical advice, programme development and implementation of monitoring, reporting, and ensuring statutory compliance.

Qualifications and Skills
1. Experience of working in land management disciplines.
2. Knowledge of sustainable forest management, UKWAS and forest certification schemes.
3. Knowledge of forest planning and forest operations.
